what is connectorrr?
Our Story
Connectorrr began as a licensed tour guide who wanted to share Korea’s cultural spaces in a more fresh and engaging way. Place-based Music became the bridge.
Drawing from years of DJing experience, I started creating site-specific sets that captured the atmosphere of each location. Sometimes this meant performing live DJ mixes inspired by the space, and other times composing original tracks that reflected its mood.
Soon, I realized that sound alone was not enough. To fully reveal the hidden charm of these places, I began writing stories that shared their history, unique features, and behind-the-scenes narratives.
Through this combination of music and storytelling, Connectorrr reimagines everyday spaces and invites people to experience Korea in a way they will never forget.
how do you connect?
How We Create Place-Based Music Sets
Each project begins with a theme. From there, we choose spaces that embody this idea and research their history, stories, and unique features.
To capture the essence of the place, we design a site-specific DJ set that reflects its atmosphere. Performing live in the space itself, we record both the music and the surrounding ambience on video, allowing the location to become part of the performance.
The journey continues online. Each set is uploaded to YouTube, accompanied by behind-the-scenes stories shared on our site. Later, original compositions inspired by the same theme are produced and released on SoundCloud.
Through this process, every space is transformed into a multisensory experience—bridging history, sound, and storytelling.

To translate this into sound, we create DJ sets or original compositions designed to reflect those perspectives. The music does not stand apart from the place; instead, it blends seamlessly with its atmosphere.
This is why place-based music transforms spaces. It enriches the experience, allowing visitors to feel more deeply connected and to carry the memory of the place long after they leave.

What Makes Connectorrr Different
In an age where much of the internet is filled with AI-generated content, authenticity matters more than ever. Connectorrr embraces a different approach: even if the process is slower or imperfect, each project is created with genuine human effort. Whenever AI tools are used, we are transparent about where and how they contribute.
Another key difference is our commitment to multilingual storytelling. By writing in Korean, English, and Japanese, we aim to share the hidden beauty of Korean spaces with audiences around the world.
Ultimately, our goal is not just to create music or stories online, but to inspire real visits to these places. As more projects come together, we also plan to curate sample travel routes that connect cultural spaces into meaningful journeys across Korea.
